Volkswagen India on Thursday launched the Tayron R-Line at an introductory price of ₹46.99 lakh, marking a further expansion of its premium SUV portfolio in the country.

Positioned as a performance-oriented luxury SUV, the Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EA888 evo4 petrol engine delivering 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. The model also gets driving profile selection with six modes.

According to the official press release, the SUV is equipped with 14 Level 2 ADAS features, nine airbags, electronic stability control, and hill ascent and descent control. It also features IQ Light HD Matrix LED headlamps, 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels, illuminated logos, and distinct R-Line styling elements.

Inside, the Tayron R-Line offers a 38.1 cm infotainment screen, a 26.03 cm digital cockpit, panoramic sunroof, 12-way electric front seats with memory and massage function, three-zone climate control, a 700-watt Harman Kardon audio system, and an augmented reality head-up display.

“It is designed for those who value performance as much as luxury and seek a vehicle that reflects their progressive mindset. With the Tayron R-Line, we are reinforcing our commitment to bringing globally admired, performance-led products that elevate the brand’s presence in India,” said Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.

The SUV is available in seven colour options and has dimensions of 4,792 mm in length with a 2,789 mm wheelbase.
