Tesla opened a new experience centre in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area on Thursday as the electric vehicle maker expands its retail and service presence in India. The new centre is Tesla’s fourth retail location in India, other being in Mumbai’s BKC district, Delhi’s Aerocity, and a facility in Gurugram.

The company said the outlet, located at VR Bengaluru in Whitefield, will showcase the newly launched Model Y L, a three-row six-seater electric SUV priced from ₹61.99 lakh. Customers can also experience the standard Model Y at the facility starting May 14.

Tesla also started after-sales service operations in Whitefield as it expands support infrastructure for customers in Bengaluru amid rising interest in electric vehicles in India.

The Model Y L, a six-seater electric SUV, has a claimed WLTP range of up to 681 km and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5 seconds. The vehicle also offers cargo space of up to 2,539 litres and features a three-row seating layout aimed at improving passenger space and comfort.

Tesla said both the Model Y L and Model Y have received five-star safety ratings from multiple global safety assessment agencies, including ANCAP, Euro NCAP, NHTSA and CIASI.

The company added that its Supercharger network can provide up to 288 km of driving range in 15 minutes of charging, while home charging support will also be available for customers in India.
