Tata Motors’ premium hatchback Altroz has secured a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP (B-NCAP), making it India’s safest hatchback across all fuel variants. With scores of 29.65/32 in adult occupant protection and 44.9/49 in child occupant protection, the Altroz is also the country’s first CNG-powered car to achieve the top safety rating

The Altroz was earlier the first hatchback to secure a 5-star rating from Global NCAP in 2020. With the latest results, it now becomes the only model in its segment to hold a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating across petrol, diesel and CNG powertrains.

Built on Tata Motors’ ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture, the Altroz features a Diamond Strength Safety Shield with reinforced crumple zones. Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat restraints, 360° HD surround view camera, Direct TPMS, SOS assistance and cornering fog lamps.

Launched in May 2025, the refreshed Altroz also offers premium features such as a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment system, digital HD cluster, wireless smartphone integration, voice-enabled sunroof, and iRA connected car technology.
