Škoda’s Kodiaq RS will be the brand’s first seven-seat SUV in India to carry the RS performance badge.Škoda Auto India on Thursday said it will launch a performance-focused version of its Kodiaq sport utility vehicle in the country, with bookings set to open on June 22.
The Kodiaq RS will be the company’s first model in India to combine its RS (Rally Sport) performance badge with a seven-seat SUV format, as it looks to broaden its presence in the premium segment.
“Now, we’re taking that legacy forward with the Kodiaq RS, our first-ever seven-seater in India to wear the iconic RS badge and the quickest Škoda yet in the country,” said Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India.
Globally, Škoda Auto uses the RS badge to designate performance-oriented models. In India, such variants have typically been offered in limited volumes, aimed at a niche set of buyers.
Further details, including pricing and specifications, will be announced closer to the start of bookings, the carmaker said.
