New Delhi: Skoda Auto India is aiming for 10–12 per cent sales growth in 2026, backed by a series of product interventions and an expanded dealership network, a senior company executive said.

The Czech carmaker, which sold nearly 72,000 units in 2025, is focusing on sustaining momentum after a high-growth year, even as it rules out crossing the 1 lakh annual sales mark in the immediate term.

“Our base has become higher… at least a 10 to 12 per cent growth is what we are expecting this year,” Brand Director Ashish Gupta told PTI.

The company’s growth strategy hinges on what it describes as “10 product actions” in 2026. These include updates and new variants across its portfolio, such as enhancements to the Kylaq compact SUV, the recently launched facelift of the Kushaq, upcoming updates to the Kodiaq, and a facelifted Slavia sedan. The company also plans to introduce the Kylaq Sportline variant and bring back the Octavia RS in limited numbers.

Alongside product refreshes, Skoda is expanding its retail footprint. The company plans to grow its presence from 183 cities currently to 200 cities by the end of the year, aiming to improve accessibility and drive volumes across regions.

The broader passenger vehicle market is expected to grow at 4–5 per cent in 2026, following a strong 9.7 per cent increase in 2025, according to industry data from Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations. Skoda aims to outpace this growth rate and strengthen its position, currently ranked seventh in the market by volumes.

However, the company remains cautious about macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties. Ongoing tensions in West Asia could impact customer sentiment, fuel prices, and supply chains, Gupta said, adding that while inquiries remain strong, any prolonged disruption could weigh on demand and deliveries.
