Mercedes-Benz India on Thursday introduced limited-run ‘Night Edition’ versions of its luxury SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz GLS, as the automaker looks to tap rising demand for bespoke and personalised premium vehicles in India.

Prices for the Night Edition GLS 450 and GLS 450d have been set at ₹1.41 crore and ₹1.43 crore respectively (ex-showroom, all-India), while the GLE 300d and GLE 450 Night Editions are priced at ₹1.05 crore and ₹1.14 crore respectively.

The special edition models, part of a global limited series, feature darkened exterior styling, exclusive interior elements and additional premium features. The company said availability of the Night Edition variants in India will be restricted.

The Night Edition range is offered in two exterior colour options — Alpine Grey and Obsidian Black. Alpine Grey is exclusive to the Night Edition series and is not available on standard GLE and GLS variants.

Inside, both SUVs feature black Nappa leather upholstery, Anthracite open-pore oak wooden trim and a Head-Up Display as standard. The GLE Night Edition also gets AIRMATIC suspension, which is not offered on the standard GLE.

“Continuous product innovation for customers through new products, their facelifts, and exclusive editions has been core to Mercedes-Benz’s successful product strategy in India,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

“GLE and GLS are undisputed segment leaders in the luxury SUV category in India, elevating India into Mercedes-Benz’s top global markets for these SUVs. The introduction of the ‘Night Edition’ with bespoke design, curated interiors, exclusive appointments and a sharper focus on personalization, makes the SUVs highly exclusive and unmatched in appeal,” he added.

Mercedes-Benz said India has emerged as one of its top global markets for sales of the GLE and GLS SUVs, reflecting strong demand for high-end luxury utility vehicles in the country.

The launch comes as luxury automakers increasingly introduce limited-edition and customisation-focused products in India to cater to affluent buyers seeking exclusivity and differentiated ownership experiences.
