Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday has revealed its modular, multi-energy NU_IQ platform, which will underpin a new generation of SUVs slated for launch from 2027. The company showcased four concept models — Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X — designed to target untapped market segments in India and abroad.

The NU_IQ platform is engineered for flexibility, supporting multiple body styles, powertrains (ICE, EV, hybrid), front- and all-wheel drive, and both left- and right-hand drive configurations, the company’s statement said. The company says the architecture delivers a “no-compromise” package, combining command seating, flat-floor interiors, class-leading boot space, lightweight construction, and advanced safety features.

R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business (Designate) at Mahindra, described NU_IQ as a “strategic blueprint for the future of Mahindra SUVs globally”, while Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer, said the concepts mark a new chapter in the company’s HEARTCORE design philosophy, blending contrasting elements under the theme “Opposites Attract”.

Next-gen integrated domain architecture

Developed jointly by Mahindra India Design Studio in Mumbai and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe in Banbury, UK, the SUVs are aimed at both domestic and export markets, including left-hand drive territories. Production models based on these concepts will roll out in phases from 2027.

The new platform also incorporates Mahindra’s next-gen integrated domain architecture, NU UX, which the company says will deliver “sci-fi” technology and intuitive user experiences. The launch is part of Mahindra’s broader strategy to redefine premium SUVs globally and strengthen its position in the high-growth utility vehicle segment.
