New Delhi: Kia India has expanded its Carens Clavis EV portfolio with the introduction of new GT-Line and X-Line trims, along with a 6-seater configuration, as part of its Model Year 2026 (MY26) update.

The latest update to the company’s first made-in-India electric vehicle reflects a shift in customer expectations beyond range and efficiency towards enhanced comfort, design differentiation and everyday usability.

The MY26 Carens Clavis EV now offers a 6-seater layout with second-row captain seats, in addition to the existing 7-seater configuration, aimed at improving passenger comfort and delivering a more premium in-cabin experience.

Kia has also introduced GT-Line and X-Line trims for the extended range variant. While the GT-Line variants bring a sportier appeal with design enhancements such as new alloy wheels and lime brake calipers, the X-Line adopts a more rugged aesthetic, including an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior colour.

“The Carens Clavis EV was developed to make electric mobility practical and relevant for everyday use. As more customers transition to EVs, their expectations are evolving beyond technology to include greater comfort, flexible seating and distinctive design,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India.

The electric MPV continues to be offered with two battery options—a 42 kWh pack with an ARAI-certified range of 404 km and a 51.4 kWh pack delivering up to 490 km range. The model supports fast charging, enabling a 10–80 per cent charge in around 39 minutes.

In terms of performance, the vehicle is powered by motors delivering up to 126 kW and 255 Nm torque, targeting both city commutes and long-distance travel.

The MY26 update also brings new features such as Digital Key and battery heater technology in higher trims, alongside a dual panoramic display, over 85 connected car features and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Kia said the updated model will be supported by its expanding EV ecosystem, including access to over 15,000 charging points through its K-Charge platform and a growing network of EV-ready dealerships and workshops.

The Carens Clavis EV is now available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations across multiple trims, with prices starting at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to ₹24.99 lakh depending on the variant.
