JSW Group’s automotive business is gearing up to open a set of company-owned “experience centres” in India ahead of its first vehicle launch in the second half of 2026, as the Sajjan Jindal-led conglomerate looks to establish its new brand in the fast-evolving electrified vehicle market.

According to a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the matter, JSW Motors plans to set up at least four experience centres across key cities including Mumbai, New Delhi and Ahmedabad, ahead of the rollout of its debut product. The first model is expected to be an upscale plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Responding to Bloomberg’s queries, a spokesperson for JSW Motors said the company will begin with experience centres designed as curated spaces where customers can interact with products and understand the technology. The spokesperson added that JSW Motors plans to launch a plug-in hybrid and a range extender vehicle in 2026, followed by a phased portfolio expansion across segments and powertrains.

JSW’s move marks the conglomerate’s first independent passenger vehicle brand, even as it already operates a successful joint venture with China’s SAIC Motor through JSW MG Motor India. The report said the strategy comes amid rising demand for electrified vehicles in India, driven by lower emissions norms and growing consumer focus on operating costs.

The report added that the new outlets will be owned and operated directly by JSW Motors, before the company expands through a traditional dealer network. The aim is to better control customer experience, pricing and brand positioning during the initial phase.

JSW Motors has also begun reaching out to potential dealer partners and is expected to showcase its initial product lineup around June or July. Vehicles under the company’s separate partnership with China’s Chery Automobile Co. will also carry the JSW badge, the report said.

JSW Group is building a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra for its new-energy vehicles. The plant will also support electrified trucks and buses under JSW Greentech Ltd, which will initially cater to JSW’s internal fleet before expanding to external customers, the report added.
