When Amrita wanted to BASH Saif’s head with a ‘frying pan’

Amrita Singh wanted to ‘BASH’ Saif Ali Khan’s head with a ‘frying pan’, felt insecure about his co-actresses: ‘I cried and fought’

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and actress Amrita Singh were one of the most talked-about couples of the 1990s. They shared 13 years of marriage, from 1991 to 2004, and despite their eventual divorce, their relationship is remembered for its intensity, honesty and unforgettable moments. One of the most candid revelations came from Amrita herself when she spoke openly about her insecurities and frustrations during their marriage.

Their marriage surprised many fans at the time

Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan tied the knot in 1991. Their union was widely discussed at the time because Amrita was 13 years older than Saif. Many were curious about how their age difference would affect their relationship. Despite the attention, the couple carried on with their lives, sharing both love and tension during their years together.

When Amrita Singh spoke about her marriage

Amrita, known for her outspoken nature, once appeared on ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’ and spoke about her married life. She said that marriage had made her “a gentler and slower” person. She described herself at the time as “a bit of a behenji” and explained that while she lived for herself, she often noticed how people thought twice before talking to her.

She admitted feeling insecure about Saif working with other actresses

On the show, Simi asked Amrita if she ever felt insecure about Saif working with other actresses in films. Amrita was honest and admitted, “I would lie if I said I didn’t. I’ve been here. We’ve had our problems, we’ve had our fights. I think it’s normal for a woman to feel insecure.”Amrita did not shy away from describing the difficult times in her marriage. She called her experiences “harrowing” and spoke about how she reacted to the tension in her own way. “I cried and fought, did normal things that any woman wanted to do. I wanted to bash Saif’s head with a frying pan,” she revealed.Saif, ever the humourist, jokingly added that she had bashed him in reality as well, lightening the mood of this intense confession.

About Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s relationship

During their marriage, they became parents to Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The couple parted ways in 2004. After their divorce, Saif Ali Khan went on to marry Kareena Kapoor in 2012, and they have two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. Go to Source
