Billionaire Elon Musk has predicted that the United States is entering a “great 12-year span” under the leadership of a second Trump administration (2024), followed by two consecutive presidential terms for JD Vance (2028 and 2032). The ex-DOGE lead made the prediction during a video appearance at a reunion of his former federal cost-cutting team in Bastrop, Texas.Musk spoke to roughly 150 current and former members of the DOGE team, the savings group he installed across federal agencies during the Trump administration to slash federal spending and jobs, which is now scrapped. Attendees were required to store their phones in security pouches until the event ended, according to Politico.Musk dialled into the reunion from a pitch-black, undisclosed location. He said he chose not to attend in person because he considered himself one of the top assassination targets in the country, behind only Trump and Vance. During the event, Musk thanked the group for the sacrifices they made during their Washington service, including leaving higher-paying jobs, facing political blowback, and enduring death threats. Several senior DOGE alumni, including Steve Davis and Anthony Armstrong, attended and shared stories. Musk once accused Trump of being in the Epstein files, which Donald Trump dismissed by saying Musk had “gone crazy.” Musk later apologised, but his frequent visits to the White House alongside Trump decreased, although he was seen at a dinner with Middle Eastern officials at the White House last month. In a recent interview with Nikil Kamath, Musk said he usually stays away from politics due to a solid reason: “Generally, I’ve found that when I get involved in politics, it ends badly.”
