During the conversation with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Jaya Bachchan talked about why she fell in love with Amitabh Bachchan. She revealed that the Hindi cinema superstar has a different personality than hers, and hence, she might have fallen in love with him. She went on to label the institution of marriage as “outdated.”When the host asked Jaya Bachchan about Amitabh Bachchan’s views on the same, the actress answered that she never asked him about it. She said, “I have never asked him his views on marriage. Maybe he will call it the biggest mistake of his life—but I don’t want to hear that!”

In the same candid conversation, Jaya Bachchan confessed that she and Big B are “very different.” She further added, “Can you imagine if I had married someone like me? He would be in Vrindavan, and I would be somewhere else!”The veteran beauty added that her husband doesn’t speak the way she does—freely. She stated that he keeps things to himself. Jaya Bachchan said, “He is a different personality,” adding, “Maybe that’s why I married him.”

On the work front, the actress was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’. The film starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. It also featured Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog. It was released in theaters in July 2023.
