'The Girlfriend' OTT official release: When and where to watch the Rashmika Mandanna starrer film

Rashmika Mandanna’s film ‘The Girlfriend’ is set for its OTT debut on Netflix on December 5th. The movie, which explores a woman’s journey through a toxic relationship and her subsequent empowerment, will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film, also starring Dheekshith Shetty, garnered appreciation for its sensitive narrative.

The viewers lauded the makers for picking up a sensitive story about women’s empowerment. And now, the official streaming partner, Netflix, has dropped a post revealing its premiere date. The movie will be out on OTT on December 5, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.The caption of the post read, “Meet Bhooma Devi, The Girlfriend MA Literature :). Talking about the film, Rashmika Mandanna stated that when the director narrated the story, she cried. She stated a lot of moments from the story “pinched her heart.”The actress further stated that what moved her more was that those words and emotions were coming from a man (the director). She said, “Things that most people wouldn’t even understand… he did…”

Apart from the leading stars, the movie also features Anu Emmanuel, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini. The film’s story revolves around the journey of a girl who is in a fairy-tale love story with the male lead; however, their relationship turns toxic, and then she gets herself out of it. Rashmika’s performance received a lot of praise from the audience.According to the Sacnilk report, the film went on to score Rs 28.94 crore at the box office.
