Gabru: Salman to make a special appearance in Sunny starrer

‘Gabru’: Salman Khan to make a special appearance in Sunny Deol starrer - Reports

Salman Khan will make an extended special appearance in Sunny Deol’s emotional drama Gabru, releasing March 13, 2026. Alongside, he stars in Raja Shivaji and Battle of Galwan, both set for 2026. This marks an exciting year ahead for fans, showcasing Salman in diverse impactful roles.

Sunny Deol made a powerful comeback with the colossal success of ‘Gadar 2’ in 2023. Continuing his winning streak, he impressed audiences again with ‘Jaat’ in 2025. Fans are eagerly looking forward to his upcoming projects, starting with ‘Border 2’, slated to release on Republic Day in 2026. Shortly after, he will star in ‘Gabru’, an emotionally charged drama directed by Shashank Udapurkar and produced by Vishal Rana. The film holds a special surprise for viewers, a charming cameo by Salman Khan, which has been kept a secret until now.

Salman Khan’s extended role and friendship with Sunny Deol

According to Bollywood Hungama, there was a requirement of a star and the makers knew that Salman Khan fit the bill completely. Salman was approached and he loved the part and its contribution to the film. He quietly shot the film more than a year ago and it has shaped up well. It is adorable and also highly entertaining. He has 3 scenes in total and hence, it’s an extended special appearance. Interestingly, both Salman and Sunny are very close, but they have worked together only once, in ‘Jeet’ (1996). They were also a part of ‘Heroes’ (2008) but they never shared screen space in the war film. This also gave Salman another reason to sign ‘Gabru’.

Looking ahead: Salman Khan’s exciting 2026 lineup

On the work front, Salman Khan is gearing up for an action-packed 2026 with multiple exciting roles lined up. Apart from his special appearance in ‘Gabru’ set to release on March 13, he will also feature in ‘Raja Shivaji’, where he portrays Jeeva Mahala, a trusted warrior of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, played by Riteish Deshmukh. ‘Raja Shivaji’ is slated for a May 1 release.
