'Don't search for Appa in assembly': MK Stalin reacts to TN CM Vijay's 'where is your father' taunt to son Udhayanidhi

MK Stalin reacts to TN CM Vijay’s assembly speech

NEW DELHI: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin reacted to Vijay’s taunt directed at his son Udhayanidhi Stalin in the state assembly on Thursday. The Tamil Nadu CM had reportedly asked the leader of opposition “where is your father” as he mocked the DMK’s loss in state assembly elections.”The chief minister has asked, ‘Where is your father? We don’t see him.’ Whether I am present in the assembly or not, I remain etched in the minds of the people. If you want to see me at Fort St George (the Secretariat), look at the files relating to welfare schemes, including the Kalaignar Rights Entitlement Scheme. That is where this Stalin will be,” Stalin said during a speech in Tiruvarur. In his reply to the governor’s address, Vijay took a swipe at former chief minister, using his trademark anecdotal style to indirectly mock Stalin’s absence from the assembly, remarks that drew criticism from several political leaders in the state. The state assembly has witnessed heated scenes since Tuesday as Vijay targeted the opposition DMK over alleged “party funds”, prompting DMK legislators to stage a walkout. During his speech, Vijay also appeared to mimic a hand gesture that has become closely associated with Stalin and has gone viral on social media.
