Suriya 47 begins December 8: Jithu Madhavan–Suriya duo

'Suriya 47': Suriya and 'Aavesham' director Jithu Madhavan’s film set to begin filming on December 8 in Kerala - Reports

After much anticipation, Suriya’s collaboration with the talented director Jithu Madhavan has officially launched, kicking off production for the eagerly awaited Suriya 47 on December 8th in the scenic landscapes of Kerala. This thrilling flick is set to showcase Suriya as a charismatic police officer, promising to be a true crowd-pleaser.

The long-speculated collaboration between Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan and Tamil superstar Suriya is finally becoming a reality.According to reports, production on the tentatively titled Suriya 47 is all set to begin on December 8 in Kerala. Preparations for the shoot are reportedly in full swing. Reports say that the set construction and location scouting are currently underway. The project is expected to begin with an extensive Kerala schedule before moving to other locations.

Suriya to play a police officer; Casting rumours

As per OTT Play reports, Suriya is set to portray a police officer in this film, which is being promoted as a full-on entertainer with strong mass appeal. Actors Naslen and Nazriya Nazim are reportedly in talks to join the film, though an official confirmation is still awaited.A handful of talented Malayalam actors and exceptional technicians are also expected to be part of the team, just like in Jithu Madhavan’s previous films ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’. Earlier reports suggested the film might go on floors only after Suriya completed the Venky Atluri project, but the makers remained silent until now.

Mohanlal previously confirmed his film with Jithu Madhavan

Interestingly, the excitement around Jithu Madhavan’s upcoming work doesn’t end with Suriya. Earlier in 2024, in a conversation with Baradwaj Rangan, Mohanlal revealed that he has also committed to a film with the ‘Aavesham’ director. The superstar shared that he regularly listens to stories from new filmmakers and he also recalled his long-standing collaborations with acclaimed director Blessy. Mohanlal revealed this in response to several criticisms that he shies away from collaborating with new and talented directors.Meanwhile, Suriya is gearing up for his upcoming action entertainer ‘Karuppu’, directed by RJ Balaji, expected to release before Suriya 47 hits theatres.
