Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘The Girlfriend’ is making waves at the box office, boasting an impressive collection of over Rs 15.50 crore in India after a strong second weekend. The film experienced a remarkable uptick in viewership over Saturday and Sunday, particularly in the Telugu regions, where audiences flocked to theaters.

Second weekend shows healthy growth

After earning Rs 11.3 crore in Week 1 across Telugu and Hindi versions, ‘The Girlfriend’ entered its second weekend with sharply improved day-to-day trends.The film collected Rs 1 crore on its second Friday, showing just a mild drop from Thursday. But the big boost arrived on Saturday as the business jumped by 60%, reaching Rs 1.6 crore.Sunday continued the upward trend, with early estimates again placing the day’s collection at Rs 1.60 crore. This helped the total to reach Rs 15.50 crore.

Strong occupancy in Telugu states

The Telugu audience remains the biggest contributor to the film’s success. On its tenth day, The Girlfriend recorded an impressive 34.13% overall occupancy across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.The afternoon and evening shows delivered the strongest turnout at 43.49% and 43.78%. Morning and night shows held moderate yet steady occupancy which stood close to the 24% mark. Led by Rashmika Mandanna, the film also features Dheekshith Shetty, Anu Emmanuel, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini. Rashmika’s intense and layered performance has become one of the film’s major talking points, drawing her fanbase to theatres even during the second weekend.

Ahead of week 2
