The political storm in Bihar triggered by Rohini Acharya’s allegations has now drawn a response from the Bihar Women’s Commission. Commission Chairperson Apsara Singh stated that the accusations made by Rohini are “serious in nature.” However, she also clarified that Rohini has not yet filed any formal written complaint with the commission. Apsara Singh said that while the matter appears to be a family dispute, harassment has limits, and if those limits are crossed, the commission will take suo motu cognizance if necessary. She added that the commission is ready to take appropriate action if Rohini reaches out with a written complaint or evidence. At present, the Women’s Commission has not received any official communication from Rohini Acharya. The controversy continues to grow as the political and family dimensions of the issue unfold publicly.
