In the wake of the Red Fort blast that claimed 12 lives, Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) has issued a strong statement, assuring that all accused will be traced and brought to justice, “even if they are hiding underground.” The DGP confirmed that a statewide high alert has been declared, with intensified checking, surveillance, and inter-agency coordination. Multiple police teams are scrutinizing suspicious activities across Haryana, particularly in Faridabad, where significant explosive material was earlier recovered. However, questions are mounting over the Haryana Police’s handling of the case before the explosion. Investigators and media reports highlight that despite 3,000 kilograms of explosives being stockpiled, no FIR was filed in Faridabad regarding the seizures and arrests. Concerns are also being raised over the delay in action, with sources indicating that the Faridabad Police had vital leads but failed to act promptly. Another major question involves why Dr. Umar’s mobile phone, active until November 7, was not traced, and how the explosive-laden car managed to travel from Faridabad to Delhi without detection or checkpoint interception. These lapses point to potential coordination failures between local and central agencies. The NIA now fully controls the probe and continues to uncover critical links across states.
