A major incident has been reported near Delhi’s historic Red Fort, where a powerful blast occurred in a car parked close to the metro station. The explosion was followed by a massive fire that quickly spread to two nearby vehicles, engulfing all three cars in flames. Eyewitnesses reported a loud noise and thick smoke rising from the area, prompting panic among bystanders. Initial reports suggest that two people may have been injured in the incident. Fire brigade teams with five fire tenders and Delhi Police reached the spot immediately, and the high-security area has been cordoned off. Preliminary investigation is underway to determine whether the explosion was caused by a technical fault, such as an engine short-circuit, or if there was any suspicious activity involved. The area around Red Fort is considered highly sensitive, especially as it is the site from where the Prime Minister addresses the nation on Independence Day. Authorities are maintaining high alert and further updates are awaited.
