Veteran actor Mammootty has once again etched his name in history by winning the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor which is his eighth in his career.Mammootty’s performance in ‘Bramayugam’ was praised by the jury as the main reason for his victory. Following the announcement, Mammootty expressed gratitude and extended congratulations to his fellow winners. ‘Bramayugam’ was helmed by Rahul Sadasivan.“Thank you, everyone. Congratulations to all who won awards along with me. Congratulations to Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas. Congratulations to Shamla Hamsa, who was chosen as Best Actress, to Soubin Shahir, who won Best Supporting Actor, and to Siddharth Bharathan as well,” he said in a media interaction. Congratulations to the teams of Manjumal Boys and Amal Neerad.”

‘This isn’t a competition, it’s a journey’

Sharing his philosophy on artistic growth, Mammootty remarked that filmmaking was never about chasing awards. “We don’t do films with awards in mind — these things happen in their own way. Thank you, everyone.”
