Bihar Polls: Mahagathbandhan To Release Manifesto Tomorrow, Rahul Gandhi-Tejashwi Yadav Rallies To Follow

The Mahagathbandhan alliance is set to release its joint election manifesto in Patna on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, according to news agency IANS. This announcement is planned for a day before Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will share the stage with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav for the first time during the ongoing campaign.

The two leaders are scheduled to address joint rallies in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga on October 29 (Wednesday), news agency ANI reported.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has been questioning Gandhi’s prolonged absence from the Bihar campaign trail, with party leaders accusing the Congress of being inactive in the state’s political discourse.

Tejashwi Yadav Targets PM Modi Ahead of Visit

Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit to Bihar, alleging that the BJP was attempting to mislead the state’s voters.

“Look, everyone has to come for elections. What difference will merely his coming here make? Everyone knows that he (PM Modi) is coming to cheat Bihar,” Yadav told reporters in Patna.

Questioning the Centre’s record on Bihar’s development, the former Deputy Chief Minister said, “All we want to know from the Prime Minister is what you gave to Gujarat in 11 years and what you gave to Bihar—just show the accounts, that’s all we need. Tell us how much was given to Gujarat in the past years and how much to Bihar.”

PM Modi’s Visit and Poll Schedule

BJP’s Bihar unit president Dilip Jaiswal confirmed that Prime Minister Modi would address two programmes in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra on October 30 as part of the party’s Assembly election campaign.

Voting for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
