On the topic of pay equity, she confidently stated that she embraces her value, refusing to dwell on salary disparities.

Priyamani has worked in several movies in various film industries. The actress, who has over two decades of experience in the field, recently compared work culture between Bollywood and South cinema. ‘The Family Man’ actress also shared her thoughts on pay parity in the world of show business. Priyamani says she knows her market value

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Priyamani shared that equal pay for both male and female stars is still a distant dream. However, the actress stated that she has no complaints about it and gave a reason to back her opinion. She said, “I believe that whatever is your market value, you ask for it and you will get paid for it.”

The actress went on to reveal, “There have been times when I was paid less than my male co-star. It does not bother me, though. I know my market value and my worth.”Priyamani expressed that it is her opinion, and she will charge what she deserves. The ‘Jawan’ actress stated that she won’t demand any “unnecessary hike” in her remuneration.

Priyamani talks about the difference between the South film industry and Bollywood

Priyamani also talked about the punctuality of actors on set in South cinema. She stated that actors from the South film industry are quite serious about timings. In the same interview, she said, “The working style is different in both. In the South, they generally start on time. They will start at 7 or 8 am. When we say 8, we actually start at 8, no matter what.”

Priyamani on the work front

On the work front, the actress will next feature in ‘The Family Man 3’ and Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’. The film is his final movie, as he will be joining politics after its release. It is scheduled to hit cinemas in 2026.
