Palak Muchhal opens up about her bond with Smriti Mandhana ahead of her wedding with Palash Muchhal, ‘She is like a sister and my best friend’

Music composer and director Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana have been dating since 2019. The couple made their relationship Instagram official in July 2024, celebrating their fifth anniversary with a cake post. Palash recently publicly confirmed that Smriti will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore. Now, his sister and singer Palak Muchhal has also hinted that Palash and Smriti will be getting married soon, without revealing many details about their wedding plans.

‘She is like a sister and my best friend’

Palak, who is married to music composer Mithoon, opened up about her bond with Smriti Mandhana. Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra, Palak said, “My bond with Smriti Mandhana is, I think, one of the relationships in my life that I truly cherish. She is a wonderful person. Hum dono bohot close hain (We are very close). Hum don’t exactly have a sister-like relationship, but I feel truly proud of her — as a person, as a woman, as an artist. She has achieved a lot in very little time, and she is brilliant. Her talent is not a fluke, her talent is strong. She is very good in her field, family-oriented, and she values a lot. She is my best friend.”

Smriti’s love for music

Palak also revealed that Smriti loves music and frequently requests songs from her. “Yes, all the time. She is also a music lover,” Palak said.Asked about her favourite song, Palak added, “I think Smriti likes the song Kaun Tujhe. She enjoys music a lot.”

Palash, speaking at an event at the State Press Club, said, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… bas itna hi kehna hai (that’s all I want to say).” He added with a grin, “Main ne aapko headline de diya (I’ve given you the headline).”Mandhana, the vice-captain and opening batsman of the Indian women’s cricket team, is currently busy with the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
