‘Bison’ box office collections: Film set to touch Rs 50 crores

'Bison Kaalamaadan' box office collections day 10: Dhruv Vikram's film needs THIS much to hit 50 crores

Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ is on the verge of crossing the impressive Rs 50 crore milestone, now at Rs 49.85 crore. The film experienced a remarkable boost over the weekend, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where audience turnout was exceptional.

Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ continues to gallop steadily at the box office, now standing just Rs 15 lakhs short of the Rs 50 crore milestone.According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, the Mari Selvaraj directorial collected Rs 3.25 crore on its tenth day across languages, bringing its total India net to Rs 49.85 crore. The film’s first-week performance was promising as it earned Rs 27.25 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. After a modest second Friday, ‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ saw a strong resurgence over the weekend which is a 71% jump on Saturday and continued momentum on Sunday.

Tamil audience powering the run

The main region Tamil Nadu remains the film’s stronghold. The Sunday’s overall occupancy reached an impressive 41.49%. The afternoon and evening shows, clocking 50.21% and 51.95% occupancy respectively, marked the film’s best day since its opening weekend. The film stars Dhruv Vikram alongside Anupama Parameswaran, Pasupathy Ramasaamy, Rajisha Vijayan, Ameer Sultan, and Anurag Arora.

Critical praise Mari Selvaraj’s execution

According to the official ETimes review, Bison Kaalamaadan excels in its visual and thematic presentation and this is particularly in its flawless transition from black and white to colour which is a technique symbolizing time and transformation. However, our critics have pointed out that while the story’s larger message is powerful, the emotional depth of its protagonist feels somewhat distant. “You see Kittan’s physical reactions, but not his inner world,” the review noted.
