Rajat Bedi says sister recommended him for Love and War

'I've got so much more...': Rajat Bedi made cold calls to filmmakers during low phase, says sister recommended him for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War

Rajat Bedi revealed his sister recommended him for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War,’ though the casting didn’t materialize. He’s been striving for a comeback for over a decade, hoping Aryan Khan’s directorial debut will open doors. Bedi also expressed a desire to act alongside his family, including his children, in the future.

Rajat Bedi, who is currently enjoying the success of his last release, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood, recently revealed that his sister Ila Bedi Dutta recommended him to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, but the casting didn’t work out.

Family support and scouting for roles

Talking to News18 Showsha, he said, “My sister is a very, very talented writer. She recommends my name to filmmakers. I’ve an elder brother (Manik Bedi; actor and producer) also. I’m the youngest in the family. She’s always looking out for the both of us. She went and told Sanjay sir, ‘Take my brother, na. Please see if any role suits him.’ Whenever she writes for a film, she scouts for roles for me.”Elaborating further, he added, “In the last few years, I made cold calls to filmmakers and went to meet them. Everyone told me that they’ve seen my work and will consider me for their next project but to be honest, that never happened. I’ve been trying to make a comeback for the last 10-15 years but it didn’t happen.”

Looking forward after Aryan Khan directorial

After the Aryan Khan directorial, Bedi feels filmmakers will take note of his acting skills and opportunities will come his way. He shared, “Please pray for me that I get some good and big-ticket work so that I can show you what I’m all about. I’ve got so much more to share with the audience. My family and I are very fortunate and grateful that people have appreciated my work.”

Dream of acting with family

Rajat also stated that he would love to someday share screen space with his children as well. “I want to thank everyone for the love they’ve showered on me and my family, my daughter, my son and my wife. They’ve been away from the media. This is the first time that they got exposed to a premiere. My wife had never come with me to a screening. The media has noticed and loved my family. It’s overwhelming. Now, we come in a family pack. Hopefully, someday you’ll see us in a family pack in a film,” he concluded.
