Kantara 2 crosses Rs 500 crore mark in India

Kantara 2 minted an impressive Rs 337.4 crore in its opening week and followed it up with a steady run of Rs 147.85 crore in the second week. The film has been released in 5 languages but Hindi and Kannada have been the two major engines of the magnificent run of the fun.

As the film entered the third weekend, it made a confident start as it clocked in Rs 8.5 crore on Friday and witnessed a jump of more than 47 % on Saturday as it collected Rs 12.50 crore, thereby taking the film over Rs 500 crore mark. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 506.25 crore as per Sacnilk making it one of the biggest hits of Indian Cinema.

Kantara 2 will finally face stiff competition from newer release in Hindi market with the releases like Thamma starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna along with Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat with Hardhvardan Rane and Sonam Bajwa are hitting the theaters on 21st October.This weekend also saw releases of a slate of new films like Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude to Dhruv Vikram Bison to Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty’s Telusu Kada, but except Dude none have been able to generate much buzz.

Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 also features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rakimini Vasanth in pivotal roles, the makers have announced the third part with the climax of the second part.
