Adah expresses concerns over shelter facilities and animal rights

The actress expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s verdict, stating that she doesn’t know if the country is equipped to put these dogs in shelters and emphasized that it’s their country as much as it is ours. She admitted that she doesn’t have much power but hopes to do something for animal welfare, adding that locking them away is terrible and not the right answer.

Adah Sharma advocates for adoption over purchasing pets

Adah has participated in various campaigns advocating for the adoption of stray dogs. She once again encouraged her fans to choose adoption over buying pets, emphasizing that if someone is getting a dog, they should adopt strays instead of seeking imported breeds. She urged people to visit shelters to adopt stray dogs, highlighting that these animals are loving and easier to care for. While she acknowledged that decisions on such issues are beyond her control, she believes that at the very least, people can choose to adopt.

Supreme Court’s stray dog removal order mandates capture and sheltering

The Supreme Court ordered that all stray dogs in Delhi and the nearby areas must be caught within eight weeks and kept in special shelters run by local authorities. The court said these dogs will not be released back onto the streets. This decision was made because of the rising number of stray dog attacks. The court also warned that anyone stopping the capture will face legal action. A helpline must be set up to report dog bites, and dogs involved in bites must be caught within four hours. However, after some complaints, a three-judge panel of the Supreme Court has delayed its decision on whether to pause this order.
