'Coolie' box office collections day 2 (Live): Rajinikanth starrer crosses Rs 79.97 cr; Tamil occupancy holds strong at 63.86%

Rajinikanth’s latest blockbuster, ‘Coolie’, continues to draw massive crowds, starting its second day with a total India net of Rs 79.97 crore.The film, which opened on Thursday to thunderous response, earned an estimated Rs 65 crore net on Day 1 across languages.As reported by the Sacnilk website, Tamil is leading at Rs 45 crore, followed by Telugu at Rs 15 crore, Hindi at Rs 4.5 crore, and Kannada at Rs 50 lakhs.On Day 2 (Friday, August 15, 2025), Coolie added Rs 11.78 crore to its tally.

Tamil leads the charge with over 63% occupancy

The film’s Tamil version continues to dominate the charts. It has recorded an overall 63.86% occupancy in theaters on Friday as per early eastimates. Morning shows alone saw packed crowds. This is particularly in Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore.The Hindi version, titled ‘Coolie: The Powerhouse’, clocked an overall 30.23% occupancy. The metropolitan areas like Mumbai and Delhi are performing better than expected.Telugu audiences also turned up in large numbers. The area has a robust 68.14% occupancy on Day 2. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana turned out to be key contributors to the film’s pan-India success.

Star-studded cast fuels pan-India pull

The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. ‘Coolie boasts a powerhouse ensemble featuring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruthi Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Aamir Khan. Independence Day weekend will be crucial in determining the film’s long-term box office run.
