Kantara 2 fails to beat Chhaava asbiggest 2nd Tuesday of 2025

Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ fails to beat Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ as the biggest 2nd Tuesday of 2025

Ever since its release on 2nd October Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has been steamrolling any movie that has stood in its way to the record books. The film thanks to its stellar run had already become the 12th biggest hit of Indian cinema and 2nd biggest hit of 2025. Over its first week- it was also able to clock the highest collection for Saturday, Sunday and Monday collections of 2025.

But come the second weekend, the film failed to beat the highest grossing 2nd weekend collection of 2025- the top spot will continue to be Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar’s. In fact Kantara 2, while rising the charts of highest grossing films of Indian cinema, has failed to go past the benchmarks set by Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar’s Chhava for 2025. Kantar 2 couldn’t go past the 2nd weekend collections of Chhaava, nor was able to nudge past Monday collection and it also failed to beat its 2nd Tuesday collection.

Kantara 2 minted Rs 13.50 crore on second Tuesday in comparison Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava had clocked in Rs 18.5 crore. Both films were not able to take advantage of Tuesday discounts as their respective Monday collections were Rs 13.35 crore and Rs 18 crore. Though Kantara 2 has become the 2nd highest collection for 2nd Tuesday going past Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara which had earned Rs 10 crore on its 2nd Tuesday.

The total collection of Kantara 2 now stands at Rs 465.75 crore and is currently eyeing the Rs 500 crore mark by Friday. Kantara 2 features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rakimini Vasanth in pivotal roles, the makers have announced the third part with the climax of the second part but Rishab will not be coming back to the franchise till he completes Jai Hanuman and Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj’s biopic.
