‘Lokah’ box office collections day 47: Dulquer Salmaan's film dips sharply; Earns Rs 8 lakhs

The enchanting world of Kalyani Priyadarshan’s ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ is drawing to a close after a remarkable seven weeks in theaters. Although there has been a slight decline in daily box office numbers recently, the film has soared to historic heights, amassing over Rs 300 crore globally.

After nearly seven weeks of an extraordinary box office journey, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’ starring Kalyani Priyadarshan seems to be approaching the end of its theatrical cycle.As reported by the Sacnilk website, on day 47, the film minted Rs 8 lakhs. This marks one of its lowest daily collections since release. The fantasy drama, directed by Dominic Arun, has already become a historic blockbuster, but its current trend signals a gradual winding down in theatres.An all-time blockbuster despite slowdownAccording to the reports, ‘Lokah’ has collected an impressive worldwide total of Rs 301.98 crore. Of this, India net collections stand at Rs 155.72 crore, while the gross domestic figure has reached Rs 182.38 crore. The overseas market collections stand at Rs 119.6 crore. The film’s Malayalam version alone accounted for Rs 121.8 crore net, earning it an “All-Time Blockbuster” status in Kerala.Strong legacy for Kalyani and teamStarring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen K. Gafoor, Vijayaraghavan, Arun Kurian, and Sandy Master, Lokah was lauded for its visual grandeur and strong emotional storytelling. Kalyani Priyadarshan’s performance as Chandra received much love from the audiences. It will be the first time for the actress to score such big numbers at the box office. The makers have alos announced the second part for ‘Lokah’ which will revolve around Tovino Thomas’ character Chathan. Overall, ‘Lokah’ is surely a game changer in Malayalam cinema and kudos to the team behind this epic superhero flick.
