Premanand Govind Sharan, commonly known among his followers as Premanand Maharaj, a widely followed spiritual figure on social media, is currently unwell, prompting concern among lakhs of devotees across the country and abroad. Known for his enlightening satsangs on worldly and spiritual life, Premanand Maharaj has long been a source of guidance for devotees seeking answers to personal and spiritual dilemmas.

His regular padayatra has been postponed indefinitely, leaving devotees anxious about his health. A recent video shared on his official Instagram account, @bhajanmarg_official, has further drawn widespread attention.

In the video, Premanand Maharaj is seen delivering a sermon late into the night, though his eyes remain closed, his face appears blood-red, and his voice trembles. Despite his visible discomfort, he continued to address devotees, emphasising perseverance in devotion.

Watch the video here:

“This has become our practice,” Premanand Maharaj said during the sermon, adding, “No matter how much pain we face, this practice never breaks. God is pleased by your hard work, not by laziness. Only when God sees your dedication does He hold your hand.”

The video quickly went viral on social media, prompting an outpouring of emotion from devotees. One user urged, “Guruji, please get some rest,” while another wrote, “Seeing you in this state is saddening.” Many shared that the sight of him, once a source of joy, now brought deep concern for his wellbeing.

Premanand Maharaj’s health struggles are longstanding. In 2006, he was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease, a genetic condition affecting the kidneys, after experiencing severe stomach pain. Subsequent medical examinations in Delhi revealed extensive kidney damage and a limited prognosis.

Despite these challenges, he continued his spiritual journey, moving from Kashi to Vrindavan and dedicating himself to the continuous chanting of Radha’s name. Remarkably, he has even named his kidneys Krishna and Radha, reflecting his enduring devotion.
