Nissan Motor India has revealed the name and offered an early design preview of its upcoming C-segment SUV, the All-New Nissan Tekton, set to go on sale in 2026. Manufactured in partnership with Renault at the Chennai plant, the Tekton will also be exported to select global markets.
The name “Tekton,” derived from Greek, means “craftsman” or “architect” and reflects Nissan’s focus on precision engineering, performance, and distinctive design. The SUV is positioned as a premium, robust vehicle for consumers “shaping their world” through their careers, passions, and lifestyles.

Drawing inspiration from Nissan’s iconic Patrol SUV, the Tekton features a bold front with C-shaped headlamps, a muscular side profile with ‘Double-C’ mountain motifs on the doors, and a rear illuminated lightbar connecting dynamic tail-lamps. The design emphasises both style and reliability, signalling a commanding presence on the road.
Alfonso Albaisa, Corporate Executive at Nissan Motor Co., said the Tekton “is designed to disrupt, dominate, and deliver everything today’s modern Indian consumer desires.” Saurabh Vatsa, MD of Nissan Motor India, added that the SUV “will spearhead Nissan’s growth story in India,” supporting the company’s plans to expand its product portfolio and dealership network.
Further details, including pricing and confirmed export markets, will be announced closer to the 2026 launch.
