Jim Parsons gets candid about starring in ‘The Big Bang Theory’

Parsons recently got candid about the negative side of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and how the popularity heavily affected him. While talking on the ‘All Out with Jon Dean’ show, he shared that he was quite unhappy while doing the show. He added, “I look back now and realise that there were many ways, at some of the best moments of my life, I was miserable,” he shared. “I was not happy. I was stressed.”Parsons also admitted that despite all the love, popularity, and accolades the show brought him, “I wouldn’t do that again and for any amount of money … it was stressful and miserable at times. I made myself miserable.”“I felt that there were so many plates I was supposed to be keeping in the air and that the success and the good things of life that were happening were only due to this overworking… discipline and whatever. Maybe to a degree that was true. I don’t know. I can’t say because that’s how I was,” he also shared.Parsons further added that many factors played into his health deteriorating at the time, including his work ethic and his obsession with certain things, causing him to miss out on many moments in his life. Addressing his ‘obsession,’ the actor mentioned, “I had a list of things basically in my head that I had to get done to be comfortable and know that I could do my job right, which I don’t think was true.”

Jim Parsons is working on his relationship with ‘The Big Bang Theory’

The actor further concluded his note, revealing that while it was one of the hardest moments of his life, he is trying to work through his issues and develop a better relationship with it all. He added, “It’s evolving, and it gets better all the time. What I feel is better, what I feel is healthier. It’s not something that I think probably anybody, but I was certainly not equipped to, looking back.”Jim Parsons played the leading role of Sheldon Cooper in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ from 2007 to 2019. He also won a Golden Globe Award and many Emmy Awards for his role. He also reprised his role as a voice-over artist in the show ‘Young Sheldon,’ a spin-off series that explored his life as a young child. Go to Source
