Thunderstorm In North Bengal: IMD Predicts Heavy Rain, Lightning; Orange Alert Issued | Check Forecast

Bengal Rain: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm expected in North Bengal. Several trains have been cancelled due to heavy rains in five districts.

A warning has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning over the next two hours. Seven districts of the state are under thunderstorm and lightning alert.

An orange alert has been issued for Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar districts for heavy rainfall, along with winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph.

Several trains have been cancelled due to heavy rains in five districts of North Bengal. According to North East Frontier Railway sources, Siliguri-Dhubri DEMU, NJP-Alipurduar Tourist Special, Siliguri-Bamanhat Express have been cancelled since Sunday morning.

Yellow alert has been issued for Bankura, Jhargram, West Midnapore, and East Burdwan districts. Heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds is expected. Wind speeds may range between 30 to 40 kmph.

This warning has been issued by the Alipore Meteorological Department.
