Sukhwati’s husband, Kamta Prasad, shared his ordeal, saying that two and a half years ago, his wife had gone to work in brick kilns in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. During this time, she met Amar Singh Prajapati, a resident of village Bihuni.
While working in the kilns, the two fall in love. When Kamta Prasad learned of their affair, he brought his wife back home, but the love-struck pair continued to meet secretly. The husband said his wife continued talking to Amar, despite warnings. Once, he caught her on a call with him, and even the daughters-in-law had seen her talking to Amar many times.
Recently, when Kamta went to Jhansi for his son’s treatment, Sukhwati seized the opportunity and stole the daughters-in-law’s jewellry, cash, and other belongings from the house, and fled with her lover, the report added.
The incident has shaken the family—daughters-in-law remain indoors, and due to disgrace, he and his sons also stay confined. He added that despite having sons and grandchildren, his wife pursued romance at this age and deserves strict punishment.
