A 38-year-old woman from Karnataka allegedly murdered her 12-year-old before killing herself in Karnataka’s Shivamogga. The incident occurred at the nurses’ headquarters of a government hospital.

The shocking discovery was made when Shruti’s husband, who worked as a lab technician at the hospital, returned home after his night shift and found the door locked, according to NDTV. He then broke the door down with assistance from his neighbours and found his daughter, Poorvika, with head injuries.

Shruti was found hanging over her daughter’s body. Preliminary investigation suggested that Shruti was suffering from mental health issues. A case of murder and unnatural death was registered as police investigate other angles.

This happened days after a 27-year-old nurse was allegedly killed by her husband, who later hung himself from a ceiling fan at their residence in Ullal. The incident came to light on September 28 when he victim’s father, returned from Tumakuru with relatives and found the door of their home in Government Press Layout locked from the inside.

After obtaining a spare key from the house owner, they entered and found the bodies of his daughter, Manju (27), and her husband, Dharmaseelan (29), in the same room. The victim’s father claimed Dharmaseelan had killed Manju before taking his life.

Manju had been living with her parents while her husband, a labourer from Pinnalavadi village in Tamil Nadu, was employed in Dubai. The couple married in September 2022. About a month ago, Dharmaseelan returned to India and stayed with Manju in Tamil Nadu.

Another case came up from Karnataka’s Koppal district where Ramesh, a 50-year-old KPTCL employee, was killed in his home, and his wife Mahadevi was accused of striking him with a wooden pestle during a heated fight. Police say the quarrel escalated when Ramesh allegedly assaulted Mahadevi, who hit him with a wooden pestle.
