Days after the Canadian government designated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a “foreign terrorist entity,” a Canadian court has sentenced one of his alleged associates to six years in prison for firing outside AP Dhillon’s residence in Colwood last September.

A court in Victoria, British Columbia, sentenced 26-year-old Abjeet Kingra, a resident of Winnipeg, to six years in prison. According to Canadian media reports, Kingra pleaded guilty in August and was formally sentenced in late September.

The incident dates back to September 2, 2024, when shots were fired outside AP Dhillon’s residence in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada. Two vehicles were also set ablaze.

Following the attack, Canadian police arrested Abjeet Kingra, a man from Winnipeg, on charges of discharging a firearm with intent and arson. Another individual, Vikram Sharma, is believed to have fled to India, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Rohit Godara, a purported associate, claimed responsibility for the attack. Some reports connect the motive to Dhillon’s collaboration with actor Salman Khan in a music video, which the gang reportedly viewed as a provocation.
