India on Wednesday slammed Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council, calling it “deeply ironic” that a country with its own record of minority persecution seeks to lecture others on human rights.

Indian diplomat Mohammed Hussain made the comment at the 34th Meeting of the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Switzerland.

“India finds it deeply ironic that a country like Pakistan seeks to lecture others on human rights. Instead of spreading propaganda, Pakistan should confront the persecution of minorities on their own soil,” Hussain said.

Additionally, the session also saw international voices raising concerns about the situation inside Pakistan. Josh Bowes, an international geopolitical researcher, highlighted alarming human rights violations in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan.
