The Tamil Nadu government has made a significant decision in light of the Diwali festival, which will be celebrated on October 20. To ensure that the public can enjoy the festival in a special way, the government has decided to provide essential food items to ration card holders in advance this month..

In Tamil Nadu, 2,27,04,260 families receive essential items such as rice, wheat, sugar, lentils, palm oil, and kerosene at subsidised prices every month under the Public Distribution System.

Due to the high demand for green rice and palm oil during Diwali, and with many people travelling to their hometowns in advance, the government has directed the food and cooperative departments to distribute all ration items for this month in one instalment by October 10.

Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Trading Corporation (TNCSC) is actively involved in dispatching 100 percent of the ration items from the warehouses.

This initiative is designed to ensure that the public can obtain the necessary items on time and celebrate the Diwali festival happily without any hassle.
