Bihar SIR: EC publishes final electoral roll; how voters can check details

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Tuesday released the revised voter list of poll-bound Bihar after conducting the special intensive revision. The poll body released the new poll roll on the website. “In light of the special intensive revision, the final electoral roll has been published on 30.09.2025. Any voter can view the details of their name in the electoral roll through the provided link,” EC said in a social media post on X. This comes after the poll body had undertaken the drive in July to weed out foreign illegal migrants from the electoral rolls.Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is hearing the opposition’s plea against SIR and said that if any illegality is found in the methodology adopted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, the entire exercise will be struck down. This large-scale revision is being carried out with the help of over 77,000 BLOs, nearly 3,000 assistant officers, and more than 1.6 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) representing all major partiesHowever, the process has faced criticism from opposition parties. Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi alleged that irregularities were taking place in the revision exercise in poll-bound Bihar.EC dismissed the opposition’s claims of biased approach towards any political party and said that there was “no ruling side or opposition” for them.
