Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashmi, is just around the corner, where people would join to celebrate good over evil. While the blockbusters are scheduled to release on Friday, many films chose to mark their calendars on Thursday, hoping to win the hearts on the auspicious day. Whether it’s OTT or theatrical release, many films lined themselves up for their ‘lights, camera, and action’ processes to make it all the way to screens. Set on the lines of divine spirits and a renowned folklore, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ presents its viewers a prequel to the previously hit film. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the film revolves around a warrior who saves the villagers from the brutal king’s tyranny. The film takes its viewers to the pre-colonial era, where the seeds of tradition and culture are sown. Starring Rishab Shetty, Gulshan Deviah, and Rukmini Vasanth, the film releases on October 2, 2025, in the theatres.

‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ has brain-rotting jokes, epic comedic timing, and songs that are waiting to win the hearts of the audience. The plot revolves around the potential marriage of Rohit Saraf’s Vikram and Sanya Malhotra’s Ananya, but their former partners planned a couple of moves that would somehow stop the arranged ceremony. Written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film has taken over the trends with its insane collaborations. Starring Varun Dhawan and Jahnvi Kapoor, the film hits the theatrical screens this Dussehra.

After surfing through the fictional world, Agasthya Nanda will be gearing up for Sriram Raghavan’s next title, ‘Ikkis.’ Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film will chronicle the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. The soldier in the uniform was awarded the Param Veer Chakra posthumously at the age of 21. Along with Nanda, the star cast joining the force is Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. Channeling patriotism, the film will be released only in theatres.

‘Nikka Zaildar 4’ brings you just the laugh needed to start the festive month. Starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, the story revolves around the boy who hates alcohol and the girl who is obsessed, and doesn’t hesitate to chug down the bottle. Adding the family drama, the other cast members include Nirmal Rishi, Nisha Bano, Sukhi Chahal, and many more. Directed by Simerjit Singh, the Punjabi comedy drama will be released in the theatres this Vijaydashmi.

Releasing in theatres, the film blends spicy, tangy, sweet, crisp, and delicate layers just like the famous Maharashtrian delicacy ‘Vadapav,’ is set to release in the theatres. The Marathi film revolves around lovers who have to face obstacles that challenge them to question their internal feelings and the concept of ‘eternal love.’ Starring Prasad Oak, Savita Prabhune, Abhinav Berde, Gauri Nalawade, and Rasika Vengurlekar, the film promises the overwhelming thoughts that might make you sob or smile.
