YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by US President Donald Trump over the suspension of his account in 2021. The suspension followed the Capitol riots, when major social media platforms removed Trump citing risks of incitement. The agreement brings an end to a protracted legal battle that tested the limits of platform accountability and political speech online.
