Durag Puja: Ranbir Kapoor joins Ayan Mukerji at pandal; wins hearts amid fan-frenzy

Ranbir Kapoor, who rang in his birthday on Sunday, made a public appearance at a Durga Puja pandal on Monday, alongside his filmmaker friend, Ayan Mukerji.

Ranbir visits Durga Puja pandal

The actor, dressed in traditional festive attire, was seen offering prayers before the Durga idol. After offering his prayers, Ranbir posed for photographers near the idol, obliging requests and making the shutterbugs click-happy. He even walked to the edge of the stage to meet the cameramen and devotees who were eager to get close to him.

Ranbir wins hearts

In a heartwarming gesture, Ranbir extended his hand to greet fans, shook hands, allowed hugs, and even let some ecstatic admirers touch his face. It wasn’t long before the videos went viral and social media users sang praise of the actor for his humility. Some fans on social media were left seeing red when they noted that some fans ‘crossed the line’ and resorted to touching the actor. However, going by the clips, Ranbir did not seem to shrug from the fans, but instead, smiled and remained calm while reaching out to many others and even posing for selfies while he was at it.His friend and frequent collaborator Ayan Mukerji, who joined him at the event, also participated in the rituals and celebrations.

On the work front

The director-actor duo last worked together for the film ‘Brahmastra’. The film which also starred Alia Bhatt in the lead, went on to become a hit at the box office. The film was scheduled to begin shooting its sequel. However, owing to his work commitments – directing ‘War 2’ – he began work on his other film ventures like ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Love and War’. The year 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for the actor who will see both big-ticket films releasing in theatres. While the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is slated for a 20 March 2026 release, the Nitesh Tiwari mythological drama arrives on the big screen on Diwali.
