At Least Two Dead, Several Injured In PoK As Pakistan Clamps Down On Protesters

Pakistani security forces opened fire on protesters in Muzaffarabad, killing at least two and injuring 22. Protests erupted in Dadyal and other Pakistan-occupied Kashmir areas.

At least two people were killed and several were injured after Pakistan’s security forces on Monday opened fire on residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Muzaffarabad.

Protests have also been reported in Dadyal and other areas of the region which Pakistan has illegally occupied for decades.

A report by the Times of India, citing Pakistani broadcaster SamaaTV, said that one person died as Pakistani security forces violently clamped down on protesters.

A separate report by broadcaster NDTV said that two people were killed and 22 injured and that Pakistani forces and ISI-backed Muslim Conference embedded “thugs” within the forces and clamped down on protesters.
