Brentford vs Manchester United LIVE: Buoyed by their morale-boosting victory over Chelsea, Manchester United will be aiming to collect a second victory in as many matches when they face Brentford in an away Premier League clash at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.
Under-fire manager Ruben Amorim’s chances of retaining his job at Old Trafford received a major boost last Saturday after Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro starred in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea, the team that had recently defeated European champions Paris Saint-Germain to win the FIFA Club World Cup in the US.
A victory over Brentford, which will be only their third of the 2025-26 season so far across competitions, should help United move into the top-10 – possibly into the top-five as well, depending on other results on Saturday with teams such as Chelsea and Manchester City in action.
The 0-3 defeat at the hands of City on 14 September had many believing that Amorim’s tenure as United coach, which began in November last year, was up and that a sack was imminent.
And while the Portuguese coach got a lifeline in the form of a victory over Chelsea, he’s not off the hook by any means and will be hoping to collect a second win on the trot.
Brentford, meanwhile, find themselves at the 17th spot after just one win in five games, and will be hoping to give their campaign a boost with a victory over a side that isn’t quite United of the old just yet.
