Memo Paris teams up with artist Jean Jullien for Odéon fragrance relaunch

Memo Paris has tapped French painter and illustrator Jean Jullien for a fresh take on one of its most beloved fragrances, Odéon.

The collaboration sees the Parisian perfumer relaunch the scent—first introduced five years ago—in a limited-edition bottle adorned with Jullien’s signature playful touch.

Inspired by the fragrance’s opening of rose absolute and candied rose, Jullien designed a bottle that recalls the soft pink wash of a Parisian sky.

“Odéon isn’t a new fragrance for us, it’s one of our best sellers,” Memo Paris co-founder John Molloy told FashionNetwork.com at the relaunch dinner in Paris on Monday night. “This was about bringing it back to life in a way that feels true to both the city and the scent.”

Created by Symrise nose Aliénor Massenet, Odéon layers its rose facets over a heart of sandalwood, cashmeran, and patchouli, before settling into a warm base of tonka bean absolute, dry amber, and musks.

For the relaunch, Jullien also extended his illustrations to a limited-edition canvas tote and notebook, featuring a whimsical character wandering through Paris.

The soirée celebrating the relaunch welcomed press, influencers, and collaborators to the Odéon Theatre, the historic landmark that lends its name to the fragrance. Guests dined on a three-course menu curated by gastronomical studio Balboste—creamy soup, salmon tartare, and a rose-infused mousse—before a live performance by Olga Maximova of Can Touch This Studio, who created music from dripping water and the gentle touch of roses.

Among those in attendance was Sarah Andelman, founder of Colette, whose latest collaboration—an exhibition with the estate of the late Virgil Abloh—opens at the Grand Palais next week.

Memo Paris, founded by John Molloy and his wife Clara in 2007, has grown from a niche pioneer into a global perfume house with over 600 points of sale and six standalone boutiques. Reflecting on that journey, John remarked, “Back when we started, niche fragrances weren’t a thing. Today, people understand and value them—and with Odéon, we get to celebrate that.”
