The scheme, which comes nearly two months ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, will provide financial assistance to one woman from each family.

It will allow them to start employment or livelihood activities of their choice.

The scheme will be community driven in which, along with financial support, community resource persons connected to SHGs will provide training to support their endeavour.

To support the sale of their produce, Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be further developed in the State.

Who Can Avail Rs 10,000 Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana?

– Women aging between 18 and 60 years of age.

– You should be enrolled with Self-Help Group (SHG).

– Any woman who is an adult and single and doesn’t have parents can avail the benefits.

According to JDU sources, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch the scheme. This move is in line with Nitish Kumar’s consistent emphasis on women’s empowerment.

Since 2005, he has been at the forefront of initiatives for women, including the 50 per cent reservation announced in 2006. Under the new scheme, 11 lakh self-help groups will benefit, impacting 1.4 crore women.
