Two Groups Clash In Gujarat During Garba Over Online Post; Vehicles, Shop Damaged

A clash between two groups in Gandhinagar district in Gujarat has led to heightened tensions after a dispute, reportedly sparked by a social media post, escalated into violence during Garba celebrations late Wednesday night. The incident that took place in Bahiyal village during the third night of Navratri triggered panic in the area.

The altercation, which began as an argument over a social media status, quickly turned violent in Bahiyal village in the district. As festivities were underway, tensions flared, leading to stone pelting and a chaotic stampede among the crowd, India Today reported.

The violence resulted in the damage of over eight vehicles, and a local shop was vandalized and set on fire. Police personnel deployed to control the situation were also targeted. Two police vehicles were damaged in the incident as the mob turned hostile.

Several people were injured in the clash, although the exact number has not yet been confirmed by authorities. A heavy police presence has been deployed in the area to restore peace and prevent any further escalation.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the clash. Efforts were being made to identify those involved in the violence through CCTV footage. More details are awaited.
