Mahayuti to win 150+ seats in BMC polls, says Mumbai BJP chief

Mahayuti to win 150+ seats in BMC polls, says Mumbai BJP chief

MUMBAI: Ahead of themunicipal polls, BJP Mumbai president Ameet Satam , who visited the TOI office Wednesday, said the party was confident of winning over 150 seats in alliance with the Eknath Shindeled Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawarled NCP.He said seat-sharing talks will begin only after the reservation lottery is completed, but their constituency-wise analysis showed the Mahayuti is well-positioned to take control of the country’s richest civic body. Satam added while final seat distribution would depend on ground assessments, BJP had “a clear vision” to give the city its due. “We are confident of winning 150-plus seats based on the ward-by-ward analysis we have done considering all aspects. We have not yet begun seatsharing talks, but then it would only be right to do so once the reservation lottery is completed. We feel Mumbai has missed being led by a definite and clear vision, which we feel we are in a position to offer,” Satam said.On a possible alliance between Raj and Uddhav Thackeray, Satam said they might have come together, but “this has not had any impact on the ground. The Marathi manoos knows who has done real work and will vote for the Mahayuti. Development, safety and security and a vision for Mumbai will be our focus,” he said.
